Communications tower
Location: Firehouse #5, 2830 Central Street
New tower to be 13 feet higher than the existing tower: Two wireless companies have signed on for use and this will generate $2,000 per month for the City’s general operations. The current tower generates no revenue.

Soccer fields
Location: Bent Park
Bent Park to be open for organized team sports seven days a week: All organized sports organizations will be required to obtain a City permit. Almost all of the City’s soccer facilities are at maximum use. Opening Bent Part will help accommodate increasing participation in soccer and allow fields in bad condition to be completely restored.

[Note: At Tuesday's meeting there was a question about the relationship between City parks and residences within 100 ft. I have combed the City Code and have not found that specific rule. Click here then go to "Title 6, Chapter 10."]

At Human Services Committee, 07-07-09

Consideration of proposed Ordinance 25-O-09 limiting the number of dogs and cats in premises to four (4)

I think this ordinance is reactionary and unenforceable. The hoarding of pets is a mental health issue, a public health issue and an animal abuse issue to be controlled by a number of existing ordinances.

What do you think?
