UPDATE: THE PRESENTATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS WILL BEGIN TONIGHT AT 6 PM WITH THE A&PW DISCUSSION OF WASTE PICKUP.

The information and links below will provide more insight to the current budget planning process. Citizen participation is very important. I need your help in voicing the priorities and opinions of the 6th Ward. Start with the on line survey:

Attend or watch the Evanston Community channel (16 on Comcast) broadcasts of the City’s Special Council meetings. At the next meeting, Monday, December 7 (Council Chamber, second floor, 2100 Ridge), the results of the workshops will be presented to the Council. THE STARTING TIME FOR THIS MEETING IS 6:00 PM.

Check the City’s calendar for all public meetings:

The budget process began with the four community workshops (http://www.cityofevanston.org/budget/?page_id=2). The library discussion is the result of the workshops.

City departments have also made recommendations for budget cuts (http://www.cityofevanston.org/budget/?page_id=7).

The third “prong” of the initial budget process is the Mayor’s Budget Task Force. The following people were nominated and approved for this group:

Sue Calder
Steve Engelman
Lou English*
Joseph Flanagan
Aleks Granchalek
Candace Hill
Jean Lindwall
Nicki Pearson
Hecky Powell
Mark Sloane*
Raymond Summers

*6th Ward members

The Evanston Community channel (16 on Comcast) will broadcast a Community Budget Workshop Marathon Weekend beginning Friday, December 4 at noon. It ends with a one-hour live call-in show taking your city budget questions on Sunday, December 6th from 6 pm – 7 pm

Videos of the community meetings are also posted in their entirety at:
